Stem Cell Therapy

What is Vet-Stem Regenerative Medicine?

Regenerative medicine uses a concentrated form of stem cells that are actually taken from the fat tissue of your adult dog to treat canine osteoarthritis, tendon and ligament injuries and other arthritic problems.  No embryonic cells are used in this treatment.

      - Is not responding well or can not tolerate pain medication
      - Is not a good surgical candidate due to age or health
      - Has arthritis identified in one or more joints
      - Has immune mediated Polyarthritis
      - Is likely to need long term pain medications
      - Pet owner prefers a natural therapy

Blue Ridge Pet Clinic lead veterinarian, Dr. Carol Rowe, is the only Vet-Stem credentialed veterinarian in the White Mountains.

Pet owners should discuss appropriateness of treatment for their pet and associated costs by calling us at: (928) 367-5950.

How the procedure works

Day One:
The veterinarian collects a small fat sample (about two tablespoons) from the patient. The sample is shipped priority overnight to the Vet-Stem laboratory in San Diego, California.

Day Two:
Vet-Stem processes the fat sample, concentrates the VSRCs (Vet-Stem Regenerative Cells). The cells are shipped priority overnight in ready-to-inject syringes.

Day Three:
The veterinarian injects the VSRCs directly into the injured site.
